When we decided to re-launch our online presence, we turned to JBS Webdesign Ltd who are a large webdesign company based in the East Midlands.
Our brief to JBS, was to produce a website that was both asthetically pleasing, functional and a useful resource for our members - whilst attracting new visitors to the golf club.
Project Manager for JBS Webdesign, Paul Boreham explains here how our brief was met:-
"On visiting Rutland County Golf Club, we were keen to showcase the sheer size and quality of the facilites on the rutlandcountygolf.co.uk.
The design brief we were given led us to provide a solution that is split into 3 parts.
Part 1: The Public Area
This is the part of the website that the general public see when logging on for the first time. We decided on a clean, professional looking design that was easy to navigate, yet contained a wealth of information. The use of imagery from around the course really begins to get the message across that Rutland County Golf is a beautiful facility - much more than just a top 18-Hole golf course.
We wanted the website to be very interactive, which makes it far more interesting for the user. The Course Details page for example, is easy to use, yet technically impressive in displaying a large amount of information to the user.
Part 2: The Members Area
Mr Lowe also insisted on a 'private' area for online members. Users can sign up to be a member of the Golf Course website very easily and for free. Members get their own space on the website with more dedicated information about the golf course, a discussion forum and other advanced features.
Members can also receive a regular Newsletter via email produced by the golf club, containing details of special offers, discounts and other news from the golf club.
Part 3: The Administration
The Final part of our design brief, was to provide Mr Lowe and his team with full access to elements of the website - allowing them to easily update a wide range of content and information simply and quickly.
Not only does this give the golf course more control over the delivery of the website, it also reduces any ongoing costs and is a feature we are happy to provide with any website.
Overall, my team have thoroughly enjoyed working on this project and working closely with the staff of Rutland County Golf. We hope that everybody that visits the webiste find it an enjoyable and worthwhile experience."
