Rutland County Members and Staff welcome all visitors. It is the responsibility of the Members and Visitors to maintain standards of etiquette in a game which has traditions spanning nearly 600 years.
Should a problem arise a member of the Management will be happy to help.
We ask you to observe the following:
On arriving at the Club please park in the Main Car Park, never in the reserved spaces.
All golfers must report to the shop before play.
Locker Rooms only, must be used for changing, please obtain the codes from the shop.
Dress Code
Playing The Course
Each Golfer must have their own golf clubs and bag.
Smart golfing attire is required at all times, no jeans, tracksuits, tee shirts, football/rugby shirts or vests may be worn.
Ladies may wear sleeveless shirts if they have a collar.
Shirts must be tucked into waistbands, unless designed to be worn outside.
Trousers and shorts must be tailored.
Utility or combat style trousers are not permitted.
Players must wear recognised golf shoes. No trainers or similar shoes are allowed.
In The Clubhouse
The dress code in the Clubhouse has been relaxed to allow a more informal atmosphere.
Smart or casual clothing.
Jeans and trainers are acceptable.
Work clothes, scruffy, ripped or dirty clothing is not permitted.
Golf Shoes and Stockinged feet are not permitted.
Hats should be removed before entering the Clubhouse.
Etiquette
On the Course
Gentleman please play from the yellow tees and Ladies the red tees.
Replace divots and repair pitchmarks on greens.
Rake out club and footprint marks in bunkers and replace rakes.
Slow play is to be avoided at all times. Call through players if a ball is lost or if you lose a hole.
In the Clubhouse
The Clubhouse Bar is an informal area. So a relaxed dress code is in place. Jeans are not a problem.
Mobile Phones
Mobile phones must be silenced when on the Course and in the Clubhouse.
